7/22/25 - Scottish Traditional New Moon Chant - with Grandmother Mari Fix NicEwen
Thank you New Moon for lighting our way in the Darkness. The words in this chant are Traditional and collected from the Scottish Highlands. I have created the melody for the words and made it into a chant though I would guess that it was sang as a chant honoring the New Moon as this was spoken or chanted when honoring and encountering the New Moon as a greeting. __________________________ Ending Background music: Heart of the Highlands by kaazoom

12/8/24 - Wisdom Keepers: Out of the Divisive into the Sacred Dream
An Online Zoom Workshop Event - December 8, 2024 with Indigenous Elders and Folk Representatives Dineh / Choctaw Elder Patricia Anne Davis Elder Les Malbon, Clan Patterson Elder Grandmother Mari Fix McEwen, Clan Ewing Dagara Elder Ukumbwa Sauti Sze Kuen Cheung, Mindfulness and Non Violent Communication. ---Student of Thích Nhất Hạnh ____ Ceremonialists: Mexica Elder and Spiritual Teacher, Raul Mijares Sister Cynthia Klatte Cunningham What is real community, true community? What does true unity, healing and community stem from? What values engender unity and community? and how does it organically come into being? How can we redeem humanity from the transgressions we have created / gone through? How can we restore the life system that belongs to all of life.(Orland Bishop). What is true leadership, community and vision from an Indigenous and folk perspective and how is it maintained and structured? How are all needs met including nature's? How is everyone and all life included? Are community and unity real values we cherish and if so, do we still think we can live in a world that seeks to divide and conquer, colonize, give perks and advantages to some while making enemies of, demonizing and targeting others. Are we waiting for the government or religion to take care of this and act civilly and stop being beholden to corporate and power interests? Is everyone included equally in community as it stands now? Are the advantages of some trumping the rights of others and the Earth? Does legislation really change anything or is it something else that is truly needed? Recent Elections have certainly highlighted the rampant Polarization in the United States as well as the extremely divergent Ideas of how to live on this Planet and what is acceptable and what is not. Voiced Values seem to be in question as many officials, corporations and individuals move to make exceptions for themselves and their peers to the detriment of others that are seen as not a part of their agenda / constituency. The Earth and her peoples are suffering from this. Is this way of living sane? Is this considered leadership? Is this healthy? and what can we heal within ourselves and change to pull our energy out of the old paradigm and invest it into what is truly congruent, creating a new vision, a sacred dream aligned with Nature. What do we need to see in ourselves and others to take this on and heal this for the benefit at all..... What do we need to stand up and say no to and how do we need to go about doing this for the benefit of all of Life? Can we deeply listen to others? Can all of our hearts be opened? Can fears and prejudices be assuaged. Can changes happen without inciting major issues? Are there better ways than others? When do we need to insulate ourselves and our groups and when do we need to reach out? How much courage, conviction and openness do we need to bring this forward to take this on in our lives for the good of the whole and the coming generations? How do we move beyond pure self interest towards mutuality and understanding. Welcome to our workshop where we will all explore together how to bring ourselves back to balance, sanity, congruency, community, deep connection, a shared purpose and what Elder Patricia Anne Davis would call..... the humane. _____________________________ The concept of Sacred Reciprocity has its origins in many indigenous cultures. 10/30/24 - A Samhain Eve Poem
A poem in honor of my paternal grandmother’s ancestors for Samhain. Samhain is the precursor to our modern Halloween and has also been known as “Night of the Spirits” and “the Feast of the Dead”. This poem contains fragments of popular Irish Halloween songs for children that are sung to this day. The words reflect Irish cultural traditions and beliefs, both ancestral and modern.
