7/29/26 - Traditional Scottish Milking Croon for Lughnasa on July 29: with Mari Fix NicEwen
Celebrating Lughnasa (Lùnastal.- Scots Gaelic) and the traditions associated with it. Traditional Scottish Milking Croon. According to the Coligny Calendar, predating the Julian Calendar, Lùnastal. was celebrated on the Full Moon. This year, the full Moon is on July 29th. Celebrating our Ancient Pastoral Ways and the wonderful Bò Ghàidhealach (highland Cow) that enabled our Ancestors to Flourish. Coligny calendar. It is an ancient, pre-Julian lunisolar calendar used by the Celtic people in Gaul (modern-day France) Lughnasa is a time among other things for Funerary rites. ***This Croon is dedicated to Kabbalah Bach (one of my mentors and and associates) who passed from this world a few days ago on Friday July 17, 2026. Kabbalah was dedicated to Peace and the Divine Feminine. Mythological Origins: In the medieval Irish text Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of Invasions), Tailtiu Queen of the Fir Bolg is said to have collapsed and died of exhaustion after clearing the forests of what is now County Meath so the land could be farmed. Her dying wish was for annual funeral games to be held at her burial site in her memory (her burial mound in the Plain of Mag Tailtiu). Her Son Lugh fashioned a harvest assembly (the Áenach Tailteann) in her honor. This is the origin of the "First Fruits" harvest festival or Lughnasa. Recorded for the Prayers of 22 Women Ceremony, July 22, 2026 _______________________ CC video footage by: AhmedWassim cottonbro studio Doğan Alpaslan Demir David C Murray Sergej ***** ed1toR BEATA L. 6/21/26 - Old Celtic Mid-Summer Ceremony: with Mari Fix NicEwen
Manx Mid-Summer Ceremony from the Isle of Man. Traditional Song and Prayer. Observed in Ireland and Scotland on June 23rd, Mid-Summer's Eve, and on July 4th according to the Julian Calendar on the Isle of Man. At the Iron Age Hillfort that is the site of this ceremony on the Isle of Man. This Ceremony describing the offering of Rushes is proported to be very old. _______________ "Mananan Song," the original Song: The song lyrics survive in texts like Immram Brain (The Voyage of Bran). Linguists analyze the grammar and find forms of Old Irish that predate later Christian standardization. 1. The Linguistic Dating "Time Stamp"When Christian monks copied text, they updated the spelling and prose to match their contemporary language. However, the poetry sections were left intact because early Irish deibide meter relies on a precise number of syllables and complex rhyming structures. Altering a word would ruin the poem's rhyme scheme.Archaic Grammar: Scholars like Kuno Meyer and James Carney found that the poetry spoken by Manannán contains rare, archaic grammatical features (like old verbal inflections and nasalization). _______________ The particular song version sung on this video was collected, written down, and preserved from oral tradition by the Manx folklorist Mona Douglas in 1921, but is older than it's collection. _______________ backing music: CC License Forgotton Hero music

The oldest known Gaelic ceremonial song for May Day / Beltane. The first of May is typically celebrated as Beltane day, the first day of Summer. Some celebrate Beltane on days aligned with the moon / a day aligned with the Lunar Calendar. Some may choose to celebrate Beltane on the full moon closest to the astronomical midpoint between the spring equinox and summer solstice rather than the 1st of May. 7/22/25 - Scottish Traditional New Moon Chant - with Grandmother Mari Fix NicEwen
Thank you New Moon for lighting our way in the Darkness. The words in this chant are Traditional and collected from the Scottish Highlands. I have created the melody for the words and made it into a chant though I would guess that it was sang as a chant honoring the New Moon as this was spoken or chanted when honoring and encountering the New Moon as a greeting.
